Published in Jan 2013 Diet Coke released an advert entitled “Gardener”. It is a rather steamy well constructed advert where a man ends up topless. This TV ad is saucy!
Under their YouTube video Diet Coke wrote: “Thank you for Sparkling Together with us for 30 years! Here’s our brand new hunky TV advert starring Andrew Cooper as our new Diet Coke Man!”

Reviewing The Diet Coke Gardener Advert:
The cinematography in this advert is superb and shows us how refreshing a Diet Coke can be and by showing off the muscles of the hunk Andrew Cooper in this advert, it shows off the appeal of the brand and drink even more. 5/5
The messaging in this advert is good in the sense that it is clearly an advert for Diet Coke. However I don’t feel as if this will completely end up being a memorable advert, so I give this a 4/5.
The pace of this advert is perfect both when you watch the TV version and the directors cut version. 5/5.
The choice to use the song ‘I Just Want To make Love To You’ by the Etta James makes the advert enjoyable to watch and perfectly syncs in with the pace and cinematography of the advert. The song in its own right is a great song to listen to with a great Saxophone solo, or as one YouTube commenter called it, “A sexathone” – Very much in line with the song lyrics. 5/5
