New Post-it® Flip-Book Movie Advert

Post-it flip-book movie

The Swiss recently released a Post-it® advert using a flip-book movie as its messaging tool. The TV ad is cleverly made and very artistic to watch. The advertisement tagline is ‘350 possibilities for catching thoughts!’ See if that’s true by watching the advert below:

Advertising Agency: NOISE, Zürich, Switzerland
Creative Director: Andreas Mädler
Art Directors: Frédéric Keller, Roman Kessler
Copywriter: Claudio Knechtle
Illustrator: Tim Urs Vogel
Production Company: TRIKK17-Animationsraum
Producer: Björn Magsig
Director: Sandra Schiessl
Published: April 2013

Reviewing Post-it® Advert:

The camera pans and moves smoothly throughout the advert clip which makes it easy to watch the Post-it note movie. The drawings themselves are also smooth and easy on the eyes and this helps the story move along nicely. Overall I give the cinematography a 5/5.

Message: 4/5

The advert aims to deliver a message that Post-it notes can capture any thought. Through the use of a flip-book movie they certainly achieve that message by the end of the movie by telling you that you can use Post-its to capture your thoughts. However because of its artistic nature you get more drawn into thinking it’s just an art piece than a delivery of advert messaging. 4/5

Pace: 4/5

The pace is good for what it is but with the choice of music the advert begins to feel too long. A better soundtrack is needed to bring it to life more. 4/5

Sound: 3/5

The soundtrack for this advert doesn’t really add anything to the story and can feel more in your face than as background music. 3/5

Overall: 4/5

What about you?
